Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) said Friday that passage through the Strait of Hormuz "is not possible" and is the waterway is therefore altogether closed for commercial traffic.

The U.S., meanwhile, continues to enforce its naval blockade of Iranian ports in and around the Strait of Hormuz, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to the maritime tracking service Ship Finder, only 19 vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, a significant fall from the July 3 peak of 63 vessels transiting through the waterway.
