14.06.2026 | ‘Rabid dog’ Israel will bite our leg before ink on deal is dry, says Iranian lawmaker
Source - The Sunday Telegraph

An influential Iranian lawmaker has described Israel as a “rabid dog” after the Israeli military dropped a bomb on a building in Beirut amid talk of an impending peace deal.

Writing on X, Ebrahim Rezaei, the spokesman for the Iranian parliament’s foreign policy and national security committee, said that the purpose of any peace agreement should be to “discipline the Zionist regime”.

“If this rabid dog is not brought under control, it will bite our leg before the ink on any agreement has even dried,” he wrote.

Tehran has pushed for negotiations over a truce in Lebanon to be linked to a broader agreement involving the United States and the war with Iran.

It remains unclear what role the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah will play in the memorandum of understanding that Iran and Washington are expected to sign.
