17.01.2021 | Trump Impeachment ‘Witness’ Played Key Role in Steele Dossier, Misled Congress
Source - Liberty Headlines

Sharp, punchy and seemingly candid in her testimony, Fiona Hill offered a refreshing change from the parade of less-savory deep-state characters selected as so-called witnesses by House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff, D-Calif., during President Donald Trump’s first impeachment by House Democrats in 2019. The British native—now a US citizen—appeared to lend a disconnected, outsider’s view of the American political infighting, and having been involved in both the Trump and Bush administrations, she at least appeared capable of transcending the party-line attacks. But a soon-to-be declassified memo may reveal that Hill was the ultimate deep-state operative, linked not only to the partisan effort to remove the president over his Ukraine phone call, but also in the earlier effort to smear him with knowingly false claims of Russia collusion. According to a new report by Just the News’ John Solomon, it was Hill who introduced Christopher Steele, author of the notoriously debunked Steele Dossier, to Igor Danchenko, an energy policy expert at the far-left Brookings Institution. Danchenko, who already had been investigated by the FBI as a potential Russian agent, went on to serve as Steele’s primary sub-source for the dossier’s dubious propaganda, which was then commissioned by the Hillary Clinton campaign to smear Trump and used by corrupt FBI officials as justification for spying on the GOP campaign. Hill had previously worked with Steele during his time at MI6, the British spy equivalent of the CIA, and she may have been acquainted with Danchenko through several stints working at the Brookings Institution in between public offices, according to her CV. While her partisan bona fides are obvious in hindsight, she inexplicably was allowed to remain on with the National Security Council through July 2019, where she worked alongside the likes of leftist operatives Alexander Vindman and alleged whistleblower Eric Ciaramella. Some have speculated that Trump’s second national security adviser, HR McMaster, may have been pivotal in planting the anti-Trump resistance agents after the FBI succeeded in forcing out original NSC chief Michael Flynn as part of a perjury trap. Despite her integral role in the origin of the Steele Dossier, Hill offered only rudimentary details about her relationship with Steele during her congressional testimony. As Just the News recounted, she made no mention of Danchenko but acknowledged her own “misgivings and concern” that the dossier was based on Russian disinformation—a detail that was not widely confirmed at the time but was later corroborated by declassified memos. “I don’t believe it’s appropriate for him to have been hired to do this,” she said of Steele’s role in the conspiracy. “I almost fell over when I discovered that he was doing this report.” She also testified to having that the Russians likely were able to exploit Steele’s known anti-Trump biases, acknowledging “that he could have been played” and that, due to his past role at MI6 leading the British agency’s counterespionage operations the Kremlin “would have an ax to grind against him given the job that he had previously.”
